PHOTOFAIRS New York is focused on showcasing contemporary works made within the last 50 years, from the 1970s and beyond.
Applications to PHOTOFAIRS New York are open to galleries that have a permanent exhibition space and hold regular curated exhibitions with a roster of represented artists.
Private dealers are welcome to apply if they have been in business for ten years or more and produce at least two exhibitions a year, which can be online, at an art fair or at an ancillary space.
To celebrate the vital role of photobooks and art publications within the photography and digital art community, the publishing sector within PHOTOFAIRS New York welcomes publishers, bookstores, art book dealers and art studios or institutions presenting works relating to photography, moving images, and new media art including photobooks, magazines, catalogs, historical and theoretical research.
Selection for participation is based on (but not limited to) curatorial strength and premise of the gallery’s application proposal, the quality of artworks, previous art fair presentations and any associated projects undertaken by the gallery. Fulfilling these criteria is central to a successful application.
