Sectors
Each sector within PHOTOFAIRS New York aims to provide an exceptional understanding of photo-based works, digital art and new media.
Please note the sectors are not designated by physical sections within the fair, but will be interspersed on the floorplan and denoted clearly by signage.
Galleries
The main sector of PHOTOFAIRS New York showcases contemporary artists working across photography-based art. Solo or group artist programs reflecting the gallery’s unique program and identity are welcome for application.
Context
Showcasing modern and historical lens-based works, contextualizing the vast medium of photography with contemporary image-making at the Fair. The Context sector is also open to two exhibitors sharing a booth to realize a curatorial vision. Exhibitors wishing to share a booth must submit one application together.
Platform
Dedicated to supporting emerging galleries and artists. Applications are open to galleries established for less than 8 years, or if all works exhibited are by artists under the age of 35. Solo or group artist programs are accepted.
Screen
This sector is focused on digital art, where photography and new technologies intersect. Galleries presenting a wide range of new media and technology, including virtual reality, NFTs and interactive art are welcome to apply. Solo or group artist programs are accepted.
Film
Dedicated to new filmmaking practices, experimental film or film as an artistic medium from artists and practitioners from across the world. Focusing on single-channel video presentations. Solo or group artist programs are accepted.
