Today is the first Public Day of PHOTOFAIRS New York, the art fair dedicated to photography and new media, and to celebrate we’ve rounded up some of our must-see highlights from the inaugural edition. Make sure you visit the Javits Center from today until Sunday, September 10, to be immersed in cutting-edge work in photography and new technologies. See and buy work from exciting artists exhibiting at PHOTOFAIRS New York. From modern masters to those at the vanguard, the artwork on show will challenge and expand your understanding of photography and new media. From AI to photogravure, augmented reality to video art, the strong curatorial approach to PHOTOFAIRS New York presents an expansive view of the contemporary market centered around image-making, digital media and innovative practices.

See amazing installations
Go large at PHOTOFAIRS New York with a number of impressive installations, including Rolf Art’s piece Levantamientos [Uprising] by Andrés Denegri. Situated at the entrance of the fair, the piece is a large-scale film installation and is sure to inspire.

Discover notable talks
Exploring topical ideas and thought-provoking themes, the Talks Program presents conversations with thought leaders from the industry. The Program includes talks with the PHOTOFAIRS New York Program Partners, including Dear Dave, magazine, CPW, Baxter St Camera Club of New York, Jamaica Art Society, Fotografiska, Magnum Foundation and the International Centre of Photography. The talks take place daily and are free with your fair ticket.

Meet the artists
Alongside the dynamic Talks Program, there are a number of events for you to enjoy, including book signings and booth talks. Gain firsthand perspectives and engage in insightful conversations with selected artists and their gallerists showing at the fair. Head to TERN (Booth 139) to meet Tiffany Smith, who’ll be inviting participants to engage with her peacock throne and interactive photo booth installation.
